New Bracelet

I just finished this bracelet and listed it on my etsy site: http://www.laureltreasures.etsy.com/. It is very simple and clean. Made out of copper that has been etched and oxidized and then sealed witha coating to help prevent tarnishing. I chose soft, black suede and sterling silver to finish it. I think I will make myself one!

Fall is coming!!

One kid back to school. Only three more years for the other one to go. Oh dear. Fall is coming and that means it is almost time for Ligonier Days!! My booth will still be in the Municipal parking lot, but it has moved. It looks like it is directly across from the previous spot. Closer to the port-o-potties. I don't know if that is good or bad?
Time to get work for real. This is always my crunch time. I always have good intentions of making alot of jewelry during the summer, but the whiney kids usually win out. Time to buckle down.

Here is a picture from Disney. We all had a great time, even though it was sooo hot!

School is almost here. Woo hoo! Hopefully I can get back to work once my son is back in school. That is if I am able to keep the little one napping. I have a ton of ideas and sketches, but that is pretty much it. I have been able to pump out a few pieces. I need to get on it because ligonier days will be here soon!

New Earrings

I have been working on some cute earrings that go with any thing. They are textured copper that have been heated with a torch to add a beautiful patina. So fun!

Art All Night

Just returned from dropping off one of my necklaces in Pittsburgh to be shown at the Art All Night exhibit. It is held at a huge warehouse. It will be interesting to see everything once it is set up. The staff was great. They are all prepared and working diligently so no one would have to wait. Much appreciated! Check out www.artallnight.org/about.htm for more info.

Trials and Errors

I successfully transferred printed material to metal for etching. Finally. I have tried several methods and had actually given up. I found a project on etsy about etching glass. They printed on pnp transfer paper with a laser printer, then transferred the design with an iron. I tried it on my copper and it worked perfectly.

I am quite excited about this and have been thinking about new designs for my jewelry. I have renewed energy and am looking forward to getting back to work.
